I just paid off my SUV in California. I would like to get he lowest liability I could get but my current car insurance provider advised me not to do this. I would like to know what the minimum liability limits in the state of California for automobile insurance for SUV?

These numbers means $15,000 for bodily injury liability for injury or death per person per accident and $30,000 for injury or death of 2 or more persons per accident and then property damage liability per accident in amounts of $5,000.
You mentioned that you already paid off your vehicle so that means you are no longer required by the finance company or lien holder to carry the physical damage coverages of collision and comprehensive on your vehicle.
